Us
Who Am I?
I am an experienced teacher of 20 years, having predominantly worked with vulnerable learners and those with additional learning needs in both mainstream and specialist settings. I have experience teaching in mainstream classrooms, as an ALNCo and resource provision teacher and as a Local Authority Education Officer for Looked After Children, working with the North Wales Regional Education Consortia, GwE and with the Welsh Government.
Currently ALNCo for a PRU and working as a Behaviour Support Outreach teacher, I remain very ‘hands on’ in supporting staff, pupils and their families.
The Training
A full day training (usually 9am - 3pm) for education staff from all settings and working with all ages and abilities.
The training focuses on setting up a LEGO® Based Therapy group for pupils with all kinds of social and communication needs.
Evidence from Dr Daniel B LeGoff’s research forms the basis of the theory and practice along with personal experience and reflection.
Other elements of using ‘play’ to support students are also covered throughout the day including sand tray work, using puppets, drawing and painting and modeling.
How we deliver!
The Positive Power of Play training is delivered face to face, following strict Covid safety measures with all the equipment and resources provided for the day.
The training can be delivered to 3-25 people and is an interactive day with lots of opportunities to practice and role play sessions.
At the end of the day, staff will be ready to set up and facilitate LEGO® Based Therapy sessions straight away.
